Gargaon 2014
Celebrated on the 15th day of Ramadan, the word Gargaon means “mixture of sweets, dates and dried nuts”. On the evening of the 15th, after the Iftar – breaking of fast, children in traditional Arabic dress, carrying drums and beautifully decorated bags, go around to the houses in their neighborhood asking for Gargaon.

في منتصف شهر شعبان الإسلامي، تقام الاحتفالات في جميع انحاء البحرين احتفالاً بمولد الإمام المهدي، وتسمى المناسبة “ناصفة” وهو حدث يحتفل فيه البحرينينون من كل الطوائف.

في منتصف شهر شعبان الإسلامي، تقام الاحتفالات في جميع انحاء البحرين احتفالاً بمولد الإمام المهدي، وتسمى المناسبة “ناصفة” وهو حدث يحتفل فيه البحرينينون من كل الطوائف.
In the middle of the Islamic month of Sha’aban, the month before Ramadan, festivities take place all over Bahrain celebrating the date of Imam Al Mahdi’s birth. The occasion is called Nasfa [Ar], an event celebrated by Bahrainis of all communities.
